PPI Launches "Electric Playground" Mobile App for Stations
Los Angeles - April 25, 2012 Broadcast affiliates of the syndicated series The Electric Playground from PPI Releasing now have another tool to win over local audiences and advertisers. PPI, in partnership with Blue Wave Media, has launched a new mobile application for The Electric Playground that provides daily updated news video from the series and helps stations integrate it into their own local mobile offerings.
"With EP mobile added to our broadcast and internet programming, affiliates have more ways to capture viewers across every platform" said Dave Hutchinson, PPI's Senior Vice President of Program Operations and Digital Media. "Our affiliates love the state-of-the-art content management system from Blue Wave that makes it so easy to administer video and create new ad opportunities."

The popular Electric Playground series currently airs in weekly syndication in 80% of the U.S. and is renewed through 2013. Beginning in September 2012, PPI is also launching an additional Monday-Friday daily half-hour strip version of the series.
The Electric Playground covers digital entertainment with the latest developments in movies, music, video games, apps and gadgets. The series offers broadcast affiliates a "360 degree" approach to e-news programming, without restrictions on number of runs, use of content or extensions to station on-air, online or mobile platforms.
The new mobile app for EP delivers daily segments direct to viewer cellphones, including EP's daily news "Rundown" and the "AppMap" review of the best new mobile application of the day.
